Anti-Slip Coating for Bathroom Tiles: Cost
10 October 20263 min read

If your bathroom tiles feel slippery when wet, a single online price is a poor basis for choosing a fix. A small, sound ceramic floor and a large bathroom with damaged grout, soap build-up or polished stone need different preparation. That is why an anti-slip coating for bathroom tiles should be quoted against your actual floor.

For homes in KL and Selangor, this guide explains what changes the quote and what to ask before paying. It addresses cost and purchase decisions, while our bathroom anti-slip service explains the treatment itself.

What changes the cost?

  • Area and layout: a larger surface uses more preparation time and material; many corners, steps and fixtures slow access.
  • Tile material and finish: ceramic, porcelain and stone do not all accept the same process. A polished surface may need a test patch.
  • Floor condition: soap film, grease, loose grout or damaged tiles must be addressed before treatment. A grip treatment cannot repair a broken substrate.
  • Water and drainage: persistent pooling may require a drainage or leak investigation in addition to surface grip work.
  • Access and location: working hours, building rules and travel affect scheduling. Klang Valley coverage is the primary service area.

Do not accept a price based only on room size when a contractor has not checked the tile and wet-floor condition.

Compare options by total job, not bottle price

Option Good fit Ask before choosing
DIY anti-slip product Small trial where manufacturer confirms tile compatibility Preparation, appearance change, reapplication and written instructions
Professional tile treatment Sound existing floor needing better wet grip Test patch, wet test, cleaning guidance and warranty scope
Retiling Loose, cracked or unsuitable floor Removal, waterproofing, drainage, downtime and total installed cost

Retiling and treatment solve different problems. A structurally unsound floor needs repair. A sound floor that is simply too slick may be suitable for treatment. If water is leaking below the floor, compare waterproofing and anti-slip options before selecting either.

Five questions for an itemised quote

  1. What tile type and finish did you identify?
  2. Which preparation and repairs are included or excluded?
  3. Can I see a small wet test patch before full application?
  4. What result and appearance change should I expect on my tiles?
  5. What cleaning instructions and written warranty terms apply?

Send one full-room photo, a close-up of the tile, approximate floor dimensions and your location. Add photos of pooling, damaged grout or cracks. That gives the contractor a useful first view, though an on-site check may still be needed for a firm quote. Read our common bathroom questions before booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an anti-slip treatment always cheaper than retiling?

It often avoids tile removal when the existing floor is sound, but the final comparison depends on preparation, damage, area and specification. Request written, like-for-like quotes rather than assuming a fixed saving.

Can you quote from photos alone?

Photos and dimensions support an initial estimate. Tile suitability, contamination, drainage and a test patch may change the final scope.

Does a cheaper product include a warranty?

Check the seller's written terms. Nano Step's documented 36-month warranty applies to eligible residential treatment; confirm the exact scope on your quotation.

What if my bathroom also leaks?

Ask for leak diagnosis first. Anti-slip treatment improves surface grip but does not replace waterproofing repair.

Next Step

For a quote grounded in your actual bathroom, send tile photos and request a WhatsApp assessment. Include your KL or Selangor location, floor size and when tiles feel most slippery.
